Q: I don’t really do yoga…

A: That’s great! I offer it as a way to switch gears and be in your body as we start our day. You can practice with us, or sit in meditation, or move in whatever way feels comfortable for you. Bring a mat if you have one.

Q: Is there hiking involved?

A: We will take a healthy 15-20 minute walk down to the Hudson River and back.

Q: What if it rains?

A: One of the intentions for our retreat is to feel more connected to the power of nature, so we’ll be meeting rain or shine and I recommend dressing accordingly. In case of really inclement weather, we’ll modify our activities.

Q: What about dietary restrictions?

A: I have some, too, so I get it. Please let me know what you’ll need so I can plan our menu.

Q: Can I bring a friend?

A: Please do! Let me know her name, and I’m happy to offer a $10 refund/discount to each of you.

Q: Can I bring my daughter?

A: I recommend this retreat for ages 18 and up. We may swear, cry, or talk about sex and relationships… I want you to express whatever needs expression without self-consciousness. If you feel you can do that with your adult daughter, then by all means please sign her up! The same discount offer applies.

Q: What if I don’t know anyone there?

A. Introverts and quiet people are so welcome (I’m one, too!). You will have plenty of gentle, non-aggressive ways to get to know the women in our circle, OR it’s totally okay if you want to be more of a loner. No pressure either way!

Q. What is the venue like?

A. Marydell is a lovely, small retreat center in Nyack, overlooking the Hudson River. We’ll be meeting in Kateri Lodge, which has a beautiful open loft space upstairs and small kitchen/dining room downstairs. There is some housing available if you’d like to stay on-site; please reserve your space directly through Marydell. Other motels and hotels nearby include the West Gate, Time, Super 8, and Holiday Inn.

Q. I don’t understand what you mean by ceremony. What will we be doing exactly?

A. Ceremony is a broad term for any sacred, structured, and intentional activity that is meant to shift your way of thinking. It’s like upgrading your software. We’ll be creating different kinds of ceremony, rooted in ancestral and earth-based traditions, as a way to support and witness each other as we bring new understandings and dreams into our lives. Each one will be optional, inclusive, and respectful of all paths.

Do you have more Qs? Please contact me here and I’ll send you an A.
